Apple is staying away from MacBook Pro sales on Black Friday

With Black Friday approaching, many in the Apple community would be looking forward to the offers that Tim Cook and his team would present to the world. While Apple has traditionally offered store vouchers instead of an immediate discount off the sticker price, they offer better value if a consumer wants to bundle accessories alongside their new hardware, such as the latest MacBook Pro laptops.

Apple is not offering any discounts on the M4 MacBook Pro

Unfortunately, Apple isn’t offering anything for the current showpiece. Anyone who buys one of the new MacBook Pro laptops that come with the M4, M4 Pro or M4 max chipsets will be disappointed; Not only are there no discounts, there are also no vouchers.

The closest you’ll get to a price reduction is through Apple’s trade-in program. The company is highlighting this option through social media ads, but it’s only open to people who deal in Apple hardware… there’s no trade-in offer for a Microsoft Surface Laptop here.

Nevertheless, those looking for a Black Friday discount on the highest-specified MacBook Pro with the latest Apple Silicon will find unexpected surprises during the holiday of discount deals. There are M4 MacBooks with sticker price discounts.

M4 MacBook Pro discounts can be found elsewhere

US Amazon customers can get discounts on various specifications of the latest MacBook Pro laptops. For example, the entry-level M4 MacBook Pro with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage is $200 off, the 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro with 24 GB RAM is $250 off the 512 GB storage model and $300 off the model with 512 GB RAM. 1 TB model, just like the 16-inch M4 Pro with 24 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

Amazon is also offering an extended returns policy during the holidays, so you can decide if the laptop is right for you until January 31, 2025.

If you buy your MacBook Pro from Amazon (or from a third-party seller, for that matter), it doesn’t negate the benefits of AppleCare+. You can still purchase these extended warranty and technical support plans directly from Apple, as long as you purchase your machine new.

This offers consumers the best of both worlds: a discount on the latest MacBook Pro hardware and the security of AppleCare+ and support from the manufacturer.

Apple wins regardless of the MacBook Pro discount

It also gives Apple the best of both worlds.

Given the interest in the new MacBook Pro models, coupled with the company’s reluctance to offer price cuts during Black Friday, many consumers purchased their new laptops with the confidence that the price they paid during Black Friday week would not would be ruined. And it wasn’t looked at, at least not by Apple. After all, Apple has a reputation to uphold when it comes to the perceived status of the Mac platform, coupled with the higher price points it commands.

Still, Amazon’s discounts should sway consumers who are on the fence about purchasing new hardware, whether they’re updating to a new Mac or joining Apple’s ecosystem for the first time.
